Announcing Zebulon Travel! We’ve just started our own little travel agency, and the search engine we use online is teamed up with Travelocity, so the prices are the same, if not cheaper, than any of the major travel sites, and way better than the prices you’d get through a traditional travel agency. Zebulon Travel is the website, so please spread the word. Consider booking through us a charitable thing to do that doesn’t cost you any extra money, but will help students and young artists in need. I’m going to be posting any good trips I can put together, or deals I find with a tag Zebulon Travel. One deal I found was a 4 night (5 day) Mexican cruise leaving Long Beach for the week of March 31st (Spring break for many schools) for $299. If you can cruise on March 3rd you can get an oceanview cabin for just $239.
That’s on Carnival, which I experienced over the summer for my first cruise, it was awesome. The ship was very smooth, with all the stabilizing technology they have now most of the time you couldn’t even tell you were on a boat. There was amazing food, all included. Not only a 24 buffet with salad, pizza, yogurt, juices and coffee and tea, but special buffet meals with all kinds of sandwiches, chicken, waffles, halibut, made to order hamburgers and fries, and they also had sitdown options (for no extra charge) for more traditional, dining experiences. I had rainbow trout, and a filet mignon stir fry for the lunches I spent there. Dinners, however, are another thing altogether. I’ve never eaten so much fancy food in my life. Lobster Thermidor, Escargot, Beef Wellington, Filet Mignon, then traditional steaks, prime rib, salads, unique soups (including the best, and oddest I’ve had: Pumpkin Bisque) and salad options. And, since it’s your vacation, dangit, you can eat as many courses, and helpings as you’d like. Our table of 3 guys one night put down 9 filet mignons, with baked potatoes, and an appetizer. And it’s all included. OK, besides the food, which I perhaps just gushed too much about, but also nights up on deck, besides being chilly, are very peaceful, lots of recreation time (They had a 9 hole mini golf course, driving cages for the golfers (with professional instruction for a fee) ping pong, basketball, 3 pools, 2 jacuzzis, a casino, bars a plenty, all kinds of events. It’s basically, a great vacation in one big package. All you have to worry about paying for is souvenirs. And when you consider a night in a halfway decent hotel (in a metropolitan area at least) it will be about $150-300 a night, with nothing included… it’s a very affordable way to go. Check it out.
