Writing exercises involving lamps
Have a narrator compare the lack of success of his small family compared to that of his grandparents by comparing the lamps that are in the different houses.
Write a piece in which the only light source on in a small house, a lamp, is broken suddenly… involve also a lemon somehow, if you want a slight challenge.
Write a piece using some information from the wiki page on incandescent light bulbs and turn that into a metaphor for the narrator’s life in some way…
